We had such a lovely time at Helen and Rob's new year's eve party last night! Last year, we came home from their party and got engaged, so it was really fun to revisit such a happy memory.
We did it! Today we closed the sale on our apartment on the east side. Selling in the midst of a global economic melt-down was a little nervous-making along the way. But now that it's over, we're pretty grateful that things went as smoothly as they did overall.
Here's a parting shot of the building that was my home for the better part of the last 6 1/2 years:
Yup, we're married! We headed down to the New York City Clerk's Office yesterday with our siblings and parents to tie the knot. We had a wonderful time with our family and are so excited to be husband and wife!
Now that we're finally legal, we can move on to the business of apartment-selling, house-hunting, and family-building! Once we've got those plans squared away, we look forward to celebrating with all our friends and family at a wedding reception in the autumn of 2009. Stay tuned for more details, and in the meantime, here are some of the great photos from yesterday:
Here we are, hanging out at the east side apartment waiting for our family to gather:

The entire ceremony lasted for one minute and eleven seconds! Here's where Steven said "I do" and gave me my ring:

The first kiss!
Jack and Lisa, inspecting the license. They're stuck with me now!
Susan, my new sister-in-law, thought of EVERYTHING. She had the wedding march queued up on her iphone. She made sure that I had old, new, borrowed and blue. She even had rose petals hidden in her purse to throw at us after the ceremony! It was a fabulous surprise.
Our rings were crafted by jewelers who are friends of Scott. We love them.
My flowers were GORGEOUS. (They were made by Martha Stewart's florist!)
Today I took Sassy in for a little trim at the groomer. Against my better judgement, I let her convince me that Sassy would enjoy a nice, cool lion cut for the hot summer weather. You'll see his new look below. Can you see from his expression that he is already plotting his revenge?
